Before you call
Be ready to say whether you are seeking an appointment at the practice or at home. If you have a prescription, keep it to hand so that you can accurately answer any questions asked on the phone.
It can also help to mention any practical constraint that may affect the appointment. The practice will then confirm what is possible and appropriate.
On the day of the appointment
- Keep your prescription and any administrative documents that were requested.
- Follow the instructions already provided by your doctor, hospital or the professional responsible for your care.
- Do not stop, change or begin a treatment on your own initiative.
